MitraSpec didn't start in a boardroom. It started with chronic pain, desperation, and a surprising discovery that changed everything.
In 2014, Daniel was driving a tractor-trailer while dealing with chronic pain from a back injury. He needed something that would help him manage the pain without compromising his ability to work or causing him to fail Department of Transportation drug tests. After careful research, he decided to try kratom from an established vendor.
The results were remarkable. The pain became manageable, energy levels improved without jitters, and for the first time in months, life felt normal again. In September 2014, Daniel was seriously considering disability and a career change. By January 2015, he was taking extra shifts, earning a promotion, and back at the gym.
Word spread quickly. Coworkers asked questions, then placed orders. What started as helping friends with bulk orders evolved into something bigger. By late 2015, Daniel had started a small kratom business, though balancing it with 60+ hour work weeks proved challenging.
In 2017, Daniel and his wife Sarah decided to invest seriously in the business. They purchased packaging equipment and rented their first commercial space. Then came the turning point: Christmas morning 2017. After being called into work despite having two young children at home during Christmas festivities, Sarah made a decision. She quit her job and dedicated herself to growing the business full-time through social media and customer service.
By May 2018, they incorporated as MitraSpec LLC and launched an improved website. The growth was rapid. By September, the business had expanded so much that Daniel had to leave the security of his trucking career to run the company full-time alongside Sarah.
