What's Actually In Your Kratom? A Guide to Pure Kratom vs. Blended Products
A common question we get at MitraSpec is: "With so many blends available, which of your products contain just plain kratom with nothing else mixed in?" It's a great question, and we're happy to clear up any confusion about what's in our products.
The Short Answer
Almost all of our products contain 100% pure kratom with no other ingredients added. We only have two products that blend kratom with other botanical extracts:
- KratoCeps - White Maeng Da Kratom + Cordyceps mushroom extract
- Gorilla Blend - Super Indo Kratom + Cordyceps mushroom extract
Everything else? It's just kratom. No fillers, no other herbs, no additives. Just pure, high-quality kratom leaf powder.
Understanding Kratom Strain Names
Before we dive deeper, let's talk about how kratom strains get their names. When you see products like "Red Bali" or "Green Maeng Da," you might wonder what those names mean.
Kratom strain names typically include two parts:
1. The Color (Red, Green, White, or Yellow) - This refers to the vein color of the kratom leaf and indicates the general effect profile. Red strains tend to be more relaxing, green strains are balanced, white strains are more energizing, and yellow strains offer unique, often mellow effects.
2. The Region or Type (Bali, Maeng Da, Thai, Malay, etc.) - This traditionally referred to where the kratom was grown or a specific growing method, though modern kratom cultivation has made these distinctions more about effect profiles than actual geography.
These are all different varieties of the same plant - Mitragyna speciosa - just like how Granny Smith and Fuji are both apples but taste different.
Single Strain Products: Pure and Simple
Our single strain products contain exactly what their name suggests - one specific strain of kratom. When you buy Red Bali, you're getting Red Bali kratom and nothing else. When you purchase Green Maeng Da, it's 100% Green Maeng Da.

Kratom Blends: Multiple Strains, Still Just Kratom
Here's where some confusion often comes in. We offer many products with names like "Ballistic Blend," "Sarah's Secret Blend," and "Happy Go Lucky." These are blends, but they're blends of different kratom strains - not kratom mixed with other herbs or supplements.
Why Blend Different Kratom Strains?
Think of it like coffee blending. A coffee roaster might combine beans from Colombia and Ethiopia to create a flavor profile that's better than either bean alone. We do the same thing with kratom strains.
By combining different strains, we can:
- Balance energizing and relaxing effects
- Create unique effect profiles not found in single strains
- Smooth out the experience for a more well-rounded effect
- Achieve specific goals like sustained energy or deep relaxation
Popular Kratom-Only Blends

Happy Go Lucky - A perfect example of strategic blending. This combines Yellow, Green, and White Maeng Da kratom strains. The result is a balanced effect that's energizing without being overwhelming, and relaxing without being sedating.
Ballistic Blend - Designed for those seeking an energetic boost, this blend combines stimulating kratom strains for maximum effect.
Lightning Blend - Another energy-focused combination that blends multiple white and green strains for a powerful, clear-headed energy boost.
All of these blends contain nothing but kratom. No caffeine, no other herbs, no supplements - just carefully selected kratom strains working together.
The Two Exceptions: Products with Added Ingredients
Now let's talk about our two products that do contain additional botanical ingredients beyond kratom.
KratoCeps
KratoCeps combines White Maeng Da kratom with Cordyceps mushroom extract. Each capsule contains 600mg of White Maeng Da and 200mg of 50:1 Cordyceps extract.
What are Cordyceps? They're medicinal mushrooms that have been used for centuries, particularly in traditional Chinese medicine. Cordyceps are known for supporting endurance and stamina, making this combination popular with athletes and active individuals.
The pairing of kratom's natural energy with Cordyceps' endurance-boosting properties creates a synergistic effect that's greater than either ingredient alone.
Gorilla Blend
Gorilla Blend was created by our friend Andrew Stock, an MMA fighter who wanted something specific for his training needs. Like KratoCeps, it combines kratom with Cordyceps mushroom extract, but uses Super Indo kratom instead of White Maeng Da.
Each capsule contains 600mg of Super Indo and 200mg of 50:1 Cordyceps extract. The Super Indo provides a slightly different effect profile than the White Maeng Da - still energizing, but with a bit more balance.
How to Choose What's Right for You
If you want absolutely nothing but kratom, the choice is simple: avoid KratoCeps and Gorilla Blend, and everything else is fair game.
But how do you choose between single strains and blends?
